How to find The product key on Windows10?

In this article I am going to be giving you instructions on how to find your product key for Windows10. This article will also provide a link for the Microsoft website where you can find your product key if you don't know it already!

How to find The product key on Windows10?

1- What is the Product key Windows:

The product key is used in order to activate Windows10. Without your product key, Windows won't activate. In order to get started with Windows10, it needs the following pieces of information: Your name, email address, and password that INCLUDE CAPITAL LETTERS!. To check if you have provided these pieces of information correctly just go into Start > Settings > Update & Security >

Activation and select "Find Product Key".

If you have entered your information correctly then your product key will appear in the box under "Your product key is available here" with a blue background and your name also along with it. If you click on the "Get Key" button, it will provide you with a pop-up window of what your product key is. I have included an example below if this has happened to you.

If this has not happened to you, then you need to make sure of a few things. You need to make sure that Caps Lock is not on. Also, make sure that both your name and email address are correct because if it's not then Windows10 would have no idea who the information belongs to.

If this has happened to you, then follow the steps below.

    1. Delete your local settings file. This is located in the following folder: C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Settings

    2. Download and install a registry cleaner such as CCLEANER2010 from here:

    3. Once installed, run it and then select "Remove Duplicate Keys" from the Analysis menu to find your product key. Also note that your product key will be listed at the end of this list (in blue text), you just need to make sure that it's correct.

    4. If you'd like to double check and be sure it's right, then just open the attached Microsoft website and enter your email address for your registered Windows10 product key to be emailed to you.

2- How to find product key in Win10?

After upgrading the win10 system, if you want to view the product key, we have a variety of ways to view it. Let's take a look at the 3 ways to find the Win10 product key. For details, please see the introduction below.

Under normal circumstances, we can find the key on the computer sticker, but this is not always the case, especially if you have already installed a computer system or bought a computer without an operating system. However, if your PC is activated as part of the organization's license agreement, finding the product key may be more problematic. At this time, you need to find the windows key by yourself, how do you find it? Let’s share three search methods below

    1. Command Prompt

The most straightforward way to find the Windows 10 product key is from the command line. Type "cmd" in the Windows 10 desktop search box, then right-click the command line result and select "Run as administrator" from the context menu. Type this command at the prompt:

    wmic path softwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey

This command will display your current Windows 10 product key.

    2. PowerShell

If you are using Windows 10 PowerShell, the process is similar. Right-click the start menu button and select Windows PowerShell (Admin) from the context menu. Type this command at the prompt to display the product key, as shown in Figure B.

    powershell “(Get-WmiObject -query ‘select * from SoftwareLicensingService’).OA3xOriginalProductKey”

    3. Registry File

As you might imagine, the product key is stored in the Windows 10 registry file, so if you know the correct key, you can find the code there. Type "regedit" in the Windows 10 desktop search, and then select the corresponding item in the results. Navigate to this key:

    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform

The BackupProductKeyDefault key will show a valid Windows 10 product key.

Note: In my case, the Windows 10 product key displayed by the command prompt and PowerShell methods are the same. However, in the registry example, the product key is different.

The above are the 3 ways to find the product key of Win10. I hope you like it. Please continue to pay attention to the script home.

That's all there is to it! I hope this article helped you find your product key for Windows10 if you were having a hard time finding it!

Once again I'm sorry for writing this in such a hurry that it doesn't make much sense but well, better late than never, right? Hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas and happy New Year as well! It's been one heck of a year...
